Ryan Stephens: Five Tips for Managing Gen-Y
Ryan touches on a lot of great points:
- Gen Y wants constant feedback
- Career development opportunities
- A mix of work and play
- Leaders to get in the trenches with them
- And managers to be open to telecommuting and flexible hours.
“Most importantly, I think Gen Y isn’t that much different from other demographics of workers.”
What do you think? Are we similar to other generations?

As an actress it’s very different than I suspect it would be in the work force. Rather than managing us all one way, our directors really have to dictate how they want us convey each role, and that’s more dependent on the script than our age.
Really though, I’m just trying to sound smart to impress Ryan because I’m totally into him, and he won’t call me.

This is a great video. I am currently conducting a study on how HR managers can actively recruit and help to increase Gen Y loyalty to their their companies.Great insights; we just need companies to listen and implement!
